What Have I been Up to Lately?

Friday, September 30th, 2005

I know, I know. I have neglected to take a step back and review my life so far.
I can’t help it, its been projects and assignments and tests and presentations-one after the other. I’ve not had much time to actually relax and, when I do, all I want to do is work out and get healthy. I’m getting fatter by the minute, considering the number of times I have snacks in between lessons!! Argh!

So, what’s new?

Well, my psychology presentation was screwed up. The lecturer chewed it up and spat it back out again. Sad. I thought I did my part pretty innovatively but, alas, not everyone in the group is the same-I guess. As usual, there is that ONE or TWO persons who really screw it up.

What else?

The group is not progressing any better, in fact, it has split right down the middle-between CAMP A, CAMP B and CAMP C. No points for guessing why. I cannot imagine how the following weeks will we get by…….with so many more presentations to go!!

ANd what else?

Well, my friend and I have just been coined the ‘GQs’ by a certain person who SIMPLY refuses to devulge his ‘oh so secretive’ age. What’s GQs you ask? - Gossip Queens. Nice.

I’ve discovered another classmate has a talent. A hidden talent. He’s the real Karoke-king of K-box. Nevermind that he sings out of tune and hogs the k-box for the whole 3 hrs, nevermind if we actually want to hear the real singers from the mtv, he believes that he is a better singer than them-nevermind the fact that he actually decalred it so infront of us girls without even batting an eyelid. Nevermind the fact that he is more than a decade older than me-at least.

Why is it that poly friends will always want to go for K-BOX?????????? WHY???? This is a very strange phenomenon that I’ve noticed. It’s like an unofficial rite of initiation into the brotherhood of Poly-ians.

And then?

I don’t know yet. Still struggling with my other presentations, yet again.

$12 Down The Drain

How ironic.

After blogging about the cheap and good steamboat meal I had last night, I had a bad bout of the tummy runs.

It must have been the oysters…

What’s even stupider is the fact that I couldn’t even blame the place for my tummy runs, out of 8 of us, only 2 of us had it. And, poor ol’ little me had to be one of the two. Argh! Each run I made, at least $2-$4 went down the flushing system!!

In case anyone is curious to know what I actually ate….

Delightfulprawn  <- yes….fresh prawns!         And Sotongs…Kee_sotong_2

Steamboat General Meeting

Friday, September 9th, 2005

Ah….to cut a long story short, I’ve simply decided not to continue bitching about some people.
Lucky you eh?

Today, after weeks of burning the oik in the cold and brightly lit library of NYP,I finally got a break. Had an interesting time with some of my classmates and found that my perceptions of some of them have to take a complete u-turn.

Take for example Yeo. I’ve thought of him as a serious family man, the older guy in our class….the stressor. Boy, was I wrong.

During a simple car trip from NYP to Jurong, he managed to convince James to drive to town to pick another classmate. AND this is despite James’ nagging and hints and finally, blatant outright protests. James did it anyway, stressed out behind the wheel all the way. And Yeo, proved to be the master of live-wiry! Was making jokes all the way, some subtley crude ones peppered with howls along the way. My ears were ringing, literally. My face was creaking from laughing too much.

Had dinner @ the turf city, really cheap steam boat buffet @ $12 per person inclusive of oysters!! Yum.

Maincourse<- It was a messy affair. Oil was splashing everywhere, chicken and sotongs were leaping out of the hotplate! Seating down for a quiet meal was not possible and, not an option to even consider.

Now, I’m really shagged from the cooking, avoiding oil splashes and the discovery that Yeo is actually called, get this……MELONE. ??!!??

NO wonder he made sure we only knew him as Kee How. Hahhaha.

Ah well, next week is another tough one…gonna burn the oil again. Damnit! I’ve never worked so hard in my life before!! Damnit!!
